Good afternoon families of room 18,
What a wacky Monday this was indeed! We had another slow day of accumulating students due to weather but by midday we had almost the entire class present! Here's what we were up to today:
Math: Today we had the pleasure of Ms. Harris joining us for math to have fun with decimals. We reviewed place value for both whole and part numbers and practiced reading decimal numbers out loud. Tomorrow, we will be looking at applying our subtraction skills to decimals to see how we can transfer our knowledge.
Social Studies: Students were given a picture prompt today to practice recognizing important information and relate what they see to concepts we have covered. The purpose of this activity was to see if students could extend what they have learned to historical images and to notice details they may not have noticed previously.
Language Arts: Students continued to work with Figurative Language in preparation for narrative writing.
Reminders:
-Outdoor Cross Country Skiing for gym - TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY 1:30 - 2:30. PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY.
-No School Friday, February 15th and 16th - Teacher's Convention
-No School Monday, February 19th - Family Day
