Happy Wednesday!
Today we had a really shaken up day due to our afternoon concert rehearsal and a day 0 schedule.
This morning, students had an extended period of time to work on their next writing sample for their blog. As Ms. Ryan's last day with us until February is this Friday, we have been pushing extra hard to get our first expository writing sample finished. Students have had lots of opportunity to write their essays in class and will have limited finish up time over the next two days because most of their writing should be in the 'finishing touches' stage.
After recess, we had an hour of math where we used different games to review multiplication and make a connection to how we were already using division in our games. We have been receiving professional development on how to use 'play' to increase math participation and support our foundational knowledge of basic facts.
After lunch we had the chance to watch the grade 1, 2, and 3 concert! It was really great and our class was a great audience! Once the concert was finished, we all went outside with Ms. Locke's class and worked on our basketball skills. Some students played a game, some worked on passing and dribbling skills, and some played four square.
Doors for both concerts over the next two evenings open at 6:00, the concert begins at 6:30 and we hope you can join us!
Have a great evening!
