Happy May the 4th! May the 4th be with you!

Here is a recap of what we have done over the past two days:

Language Arts: We continued to write our narrative story. Students who were not finished their story plan were informed that they needed to bring them home for homework, anything not completed will need to be completed on lunch Monday.

Math: Students are now looking at using skills from previously covered units in measurement. So far, we have talked about how to figure out how many seconds are in minutes, and minutes in hours using multiplication and division, as well as looked at 12 and 24 hour time (Gr. 4). We have done the same with measurement of mm, cm, and dm, making the connection that often, dividing or multiplying by 10 will help students translate measurements into different units (Gr. 5). Students went around the room to measure different objects which helped us recognize that we still need some practice in how to properly and accurately measure objects.

Science: All about wetlands! We have now discussed the four types of wetlands, their purposes, what adaptations are, some examples of flora and fauna found in wetlands and brief descriptions of how they have adapted in order to survive in these environments.
